Compliance
Meeting Australian compliance standards for safer stair treads and stair nosing.
In Australia, ensuring compliance with AS 1428 for luminance contrast and AS/NZS 458:2013 for slip resistance is paramount when it comes to enhancing the safety and accessibility of stair treads and nosing installations. These standards are integral in creating environments that cater to diverse user needs and minimise the risk of accidents.
AS 1428, dedicated to Luminance Contrast, plays a crucial role in aiding individuals with low vision. At eTread, we offer a diverse range of solutions designed to achieve a luminance contrast of 30%, a requirement that is typically reviewed and approved by your certifying authority. This commitment to luminance contrast ensures that our products contribute to making public spaces more inclusive and user-friendly.
Additionally, AS/NZS 458:2013 outlines standards for Slip Resistance, a critical aspect of stair safety. All eTread nosing products adhere to a minimum slip resistance rating of P4, surpassing the stringent requirements of this standard. To provide our clients with further assurance, we are more than willing to conduct slip tests upon request, offering tangible evidence of our commitment to safety.
By aligning our products and practices with AS 1428 and AS/NZS 458:2013, eTread remains steadfast in promoting accessibility and safety in public spaces, ensuring that every step taken on our stair treads and nosing products is a secure and confident one.
